Why the Pre-Launch Guides for This Game Are Wrong

If you searched for a Nivalis Nights guide before the game came out, you probably found a page that looked authoritative. Several of those pages contain data that could not possibly have come from the game.

This is not a criticism of fan wikis as a category. It is a description of a specific, identifiable failure mode, and knowing how to spot it will save you an afternoon of chasing a fishing spot that does not exist.

The sites

At the time of writing, these domains rank for Nivalis Nights queries:

Note the size: the largest has 83 URLs, 63 of which are translations of the other 20. The English content is roughly twenty pages.

The numbers that are not real

One of these sites advertises "240 ingredients, 190 recipes, 620 furniture pieces, 130 characters" on its homepage. It then has four character pages.

Those figures are publisher marketing copy. They are not wrong exactly — the store page says something similar. But presenting them next to a data table implies a level of verification that does not exist, and no site has verified any of them. Not ours either. We say so on our homepage.

The part that is definitely fabricated

Worse than unverified is invented. One guide site publishes:

• A profit comparison stating that one business type returns 40% more margin than another, "across 30+ in-game calendar days of testing"
• Specific fish spawn tables with weather conditions, time windows and credit values — a 1,200-credit deep-canal catch
• A 15% early-morning market discount
• Equipment prices, down to the credit
• A named black-market vendor list with restock schedules by day of week

Every one of those numbers is presented as tested. The game's reviews were not released until launch day. A guide dated before launch cannot contain in-game calendar days of testing.

The same site also carries trainer and cheat downloads.

How to spot it yourself

Three questions, asked in order:

1. Is there a date on the page, and is it before the release date? The game's release was 29 September 2026. Anything describing "tested" behaviour and dated earlier is describing a different game.
2. Does the page ever say it does not know? The good pre-launch sites — nivalisguide.com in particular — say so constantly and explicitly. It is not a good-looking site, but it is not lying to you.
3. Are there precise numbers with no source? Real data has provenance: a video timestamp, a patch note, a datamine dump. "A ramen bar returns 40% more than a cocktail bar" with no attribution is a sentence someone wrote.

Why this matters beyond annoyance

The failure mode is not that a page is wrong. It is that a confident wrong page is indistinguishable from a right one at the moment you need it.

If you spent an evening following a fishing guide that sends you to a rooftop at 4am for a fish that does not spawn there, you do not conclude "this site was written by an AI." You conclude the game is badly documented, or that you misunderstood something. Either way you never check a source, because you were never told the number was a guess.

That is the whole reason this wiki publishes almost nothing on day one. The performance page has an empty hardware table and says so. The reviews page quotes 1,096 real reviews and cites every one. Where we have no data, we would rather hand you a hole than a guess.

What we will do

When someone does the extraction work — the ingredient list, the recipes, the furniture, the characters — it will go on this site, and every row will carry a source: a patch note, a datamine dump, a timestamped video, or a datamined game file. That is a slower start than generating a 600-row table in an afternoon. It is also the only version of this site that is worth anything in six months.
